Air Commando Foundation News

Your Air Commando Foundation continues to assist Air Commandos and their families in a host of ways. Not long ago, a recently retired second generation Air Commando's spouse contracted a very rare form of cancer which was not responding to normal treatment. The spouse was receiving treatments in a trial program not yet covered by Tri-Care and this was causing a great financial burden on the family. Our Board decided to assist with a sizable donation and we started a fund raiser to assist further. Additionally, there have been three recent non-combat active-duty casualties that have created financial burdens on young families left behind. Your Foundation, after thorough vetting by the Board of Directors along with USSOCOM and AFSOC agencies, voted to assist these families with financial aid to help meet their immediate needs. In these cases as in so many others, your Foundation fills the gap between what the government can provide and what is needed.

The Air Commando Foundation is able to help through extremely generous donations from individuals such as Mr David Krebs and also Mr Jimmie Beavers. For example, Mr Krebs is the sponsor of our annual Lt Col Dave Krebs High Flight and Ray Bourque Service scholarships totaling $6,000. In addition to that contribution, he made a very sizable separate donation to the Air Commando Foundation this past December, and his local business donates the fresh caught fish to our annual fish fry. Mr Beavers is the owner of Beavers Inc (Arby's) and has graciously been the title sponsor of our annual Awards banquet, plus he has made very sizable donations to our Foundation for the past two years. The generous donations from these two gentlemen along with all donations to the foundation goes directly to support our Air Commandos and their families. Because all overhead costs associated with the Foundation are covered by the "ops" side of ACA.

Letter to the ACF:

I would like to inform you that I received the check issued by Air Commandos yesterday. My family and I would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest gratitude for your financial assistance, especially in our time of mourning. Your organization's generosity and support have provided us some solace knowing that we would not be financially burdened by repaying back the money we owed. It's times like these that I'm glad I'm a part of the greatest organization in the world where taking care of each other is a top priority. Again sir, thank you and please extend our appreciation to the Air Commandos for the aide you and your organization have provided me and my family. If there's anything I can do to repay you back, please let me know. Have a wonderful Air Force day.

Sincerely,

Ray
