Lt Col Chris Foltz, USAF, Ret., Director

Chris FoltzLt Col Chris C. Foltz recently retired from the 505 CCW at Hurlburt Field having served as a Personnel Recovery instructor. He previously served as a Command Pilot in the HC-130, C-130, OV-1, RU-21, and C-12 accumulating 10,900 total military and civilian flying hours since commissioning in the USCG in 1982. Upon transferring to the US Army in 1985, he served as a platoon leader and XO at the 3rd MI Bn. in Korea, deployed RU-21 maintenance officer at Soto Cano AB in Honduras, platoon leader and OV-1 Chief Pilot at the 224 MI Bn. at Hunter AAF, and a UH-1 pilot in the USAR at Ft Rucker, AL. Upon transfer to the Georgia ANG, he qualified as a TALO before going on AD and flying the HC-130 and serving as the Chief Pilot with the 71 RQS at Moody AFB. In 2006 he transferred to the 6 SOS at Hurlburt Field for 3 years proudly earning an Air Commando badge then served for 5 years in the AFSOC AOC. He has been on 12 overseas deployments to include OEF, OIF, and as a 6 SOS Liaison to the Philippine Air Force. Decorations include the Bronze Star; USAF, US Army, and USCG Meritorious Service Medals, USAF and US Army Commendation Medals, Air Assault Badge, and AFSOC Crew of the Year. He is a proud life member of the Commemorative Air Force, Air Commando Association, OV-1 Mohawk Association, and Friends of Army Aviation. He currently serves as a Deacon at his Church in Niceville, as UH-1 groundcrew and pilot with the Friends of Army Aviation in Ozark, AL, as groundcrew and pilot on a C47 in San Marcos, TX, and is honored to be on the Board of Directors of the Air Commando Association.
