We have recently had the pleasure of forwarding several job openings to our members, in hopes these openings would turn into good opportunities for transitioning Air Commandos. Courseware Specialist

Location: This non-supervisory position is located in Hurlburt Field near Ft. Walton Beach, FL. Work is performed in a typical office setting.

Required Skill(s): Secret Clearance. Working knowledge of Patriot Excalibur (PEX), Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) highly desired. Preferred expertise in Graphical User Interface (GUI) architecture, graphic design, and classroom instruction and the following software systems: PowerPoint, Word, Captivate, the Central Hub, Captivate, and other eLearning software.

Citizenship Requirement: U.S.

Years of Experience: 5

Education: Instructional System Design degree, certification or AFSOC specific application of ISD skills. Requires associates degree or CCAF equivalent. Five years of formal school house experience may be substituted for degree requirement. Basic knowledge should cover the following aircraft: AC-130U/W, MC-130H/J, U-28, CV-22, C-145, C-146, and MQ-9.

Essential duties:

  • Conducts administrator duties to ensure compiling, writing, editing and publishing approximately 60 different Syllabi of Instruction (SOI) for Combat Mission Ready (CMR) and Advanced Tactical Readiness (ATR) for all of AFSOC's aircrew positions.
  • Responsible for management of Air Commando Indoctrination (ACI).
  • Conducts front end analysis, editing, reviewing, other training documents and instructions.
  • Courseware support includes AFSOC's flying training courseware for Air Commando Development (ACD) created at
  • Hurlburt Field, Florida (FL) to include CMR and ATR. Courseware is the foundation of instruction for new AFSOC aircrew members via CMR as well as upgrade training for existing aircrew via ATR.
  • Maintains strong working relationships with AFSOC Ops Squadrons.
  • Support, maintain and implement AFSOC's Enterprise Training System.
  • Support development of courses and support material for current AFSOC aircraft.
  • Future aircraft courseware shall be developed and maintained at the direction of the client. This may also include the evaluation and improvement of CMR and ATR products.

Functional Systems Administrator

Education & Experience: AA in IT or CCAF equivalent, plus 3 yrs IT administrator support


  • Possess 3 yrs IT support as an administrator on a DOD system.
  • Associates degree in IT or CCAF equivalent mandatory.
  • Required qualifications are outlined in DOD 8570N IA Technical Level II - provide network environment (NE) and advanced level CE support.

Essential duties: Conducts FSA duties IAW AFI 33-115V1:

  • Manage data systems, network, and peripherals; manage web-based training tools to include; PEX Admin, Learning Management Systems, STORM Admin, SharePoint enhancements and other software support tools;
  • Maintain full operational capability of the information technology infrastructure and digital property;
  • Perform the administration, troubleshooting, and support of all task order operating systems, servers and applications;
  • Maintain operational capability of daily, weekly, and monthly backups with the Base Network Control Center (BNCC)

Position: Business Development for Air Center Helicopters, Inc.

Location: Fort Worth, TX

Job description: Full time person to work business development for Air Center Helicopters, Inc., of Ft Worth, Texas. Person should have some type of background associated with aviation preferably rotary wing. Must become knowledgeable of DoD procurement and contracting procedures and how requirements of AFRICOM, CENTCOM, SOCOM and TRANSCOM develop. Person should be familiar with the relationships between those organizations, the Services, and the TSOCs; the influence of OSD, STATE DEPT; and the budgeting process. This person will be primary lead for our company’s new business pursuits with the USG including establishing business/personal relationships with, and communications with the customer military organizations requiring DoD CARB certified rotary wing airlift support for passengers, cargo, and PR/CASEVAC. Will participate in company new business planning and writing of responses to government Requests for Information and Requests for Proposals. Will require frequent travel to the customer headquarters, contracting locations, and DoD/Industry events to develop relationships, track developing requirements, conduct customer service visits, and to report to corporate headquarters. Will likely require occasional international travel. Security clearance eligibility is preferred. Should expect to either move to Texas or spend at least a week per month at Air Center’s Headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas.

Job Description: The individual shall work with the assigned country Mission Commander or Team Lead to develop 571st Mobility Support Advisory Squadron (MSAS) five year country training plans to support U.S. Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) Theater Campaign Plan (TCP), Air Forces Air Forces Southern Command (AFSOUTH) Country Engagement Plan, and Department of State (DoS) Country Plan security cooperation objectives. Country training plans shall include a baseline assessment of partner nation capability, the recommended training programs to reach desired end states, time-phased milestones (including entry and exit criteria), and proposed Measures of Performance and Measures of Effectiveness (MOE) to monitor and assess program stability and progress towards reaching the desired end state.


  • Undergraduate or Masters degree (Masters degree is preferable) in international affairs or international affairs-related field.
  • Working knowledge in international affairs, security cooperation, or GCC staff at the Number Air Force (NAF) or MAJCOM level. Experience in the USSOUTHCOM AOR preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills to develop and document detailed training requirements with specified skill set(s). Skills and knowledge include recent practical working experience with USAF security assistance training programs (SATP), policies and procedures, knowledge of USAF aviation and aircraft systems training methodologies, intergovernmental working relations between Department of State (DoS)/Department of Defense (DoD)/Embassies to develop, define, plan and or monitor international training.
  • Shall possess a secret clearance.
  • Shall have a minimum of ten years of experience working at Department of Defense (DoD), Department of State (DoS) or ten (10) years experience working International Programs at other USG agencies designated for building partnerships and partner capacity with foreign nations.
  • Shall have a working knowledge and remain current with the latest version of WINDOWS (e.g. XP), and Microsoft applications (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Project, and Visio).

Spanish language skill is desirable.

A company I am working with asked me to put out feelers to see if there is anyone that would be interested in a Senior Program Manager job running the Contractor Operated and Maintained Base Supply (COMBS) for all of the USAF T-1A fleet. They have a bid in for the contract and if they win they will be looking to have someone run the contract either out of their Denton TX office or from San Antonio TX location.
