Willis C. Woody, Jr., age 78, of Fort Walton Beach, FL, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 6, 2017. He was born on February 3, 1939 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Mary McConnell Woody and Willis C Woody Sr., who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 23 years Avril M. Woody; brother William "David" Woody (Janie); and sister Barbara June Carlson; daughter Donna Woody Melton (Wayne); son John Murphy Woody (Hope); stepchildren Kevin Bowyer (Tammie) and Lori Fly (Chris); 8 grandchildren; & 1 great granddaughter.

He received his undergraduate degree in Economics from Millsaps College and his graduate degree from USC. Woody, a navigator of C-130's, served as an officer in the United States Air Force. His career spanned 24 years, including 2 tours in Vietnam where he earned the Distinguished Flying Cross. He will be remembered for his love of people, sailing, golfing, and fishing. He was a loyal member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Fort Walton Yacht Club.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, or Air Commando Association.
