Past Meets Present: the Air Commando Association Convention brings it directly to you. This convention gives today's Special Operators the opportunity to meet, talk, and share experiences with Air Commandos who have come before them. People that have planned, executed, and lived the missions which are part of our history.
The schedule of events leaves ample time to enjoy the beautiful sugar white beaches at the Ramada Plaza Beach Resort and catch up with fellow Air Commandos whom you may not have seen for awhile. The ACA 2017 room rates are: Standard: $114; Courtyard: $124; Pool View: $134; Beach Front: $144. We have 80 rooms and they will go first come first serve. We are planning four days of activities that are listed below, if you have any questions about any of them please email us at email@example.com or call our office at 850-581-0099 from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm.
The ACA will NOT have a registration or check in-desk for the convention. There will be no name tags or tickets. But, we will provide everything you need to do your own name tag if you want one. Plus, there will be a master list of all attendees and events available in the hospitality room (located in room #1162 on the beach pavillion) if you should have any questions. Each event will have a check-in table where attendees will sign in. You will not need tickets to any events, once you register online, your receipt will have a list of all the events you are attending.
If you are a 2017 award recipient, we need to hear from you! Call our office so we may provide you with information that will be beneficial to you and your guests. Widows or special guests please contact us by phone to register for the convention.

Our Early Bird Social is Thursday, Oct 12th at the Ramada Plaza Beach Resort in the Empire Room (on the 6th floor) at 5:00pm. This event is casual and laid back, come enjoy a drink at the cash bar and hors d'oeuvres after you get into town.

The Heritage seminar is scheduled for Friday morning at 8:00 am, October 13th at the Soundside Club on Hurlburt Field. A full breakfast buffet will be served for all seminar attendees. The ACA is thrilled to have Gen Charles R. Holland (Ret) as our featured guest, former Commander of USSOCOM. In addition, this year we will be highlighting the 2017 Commander Leadership Award recipients at the Heritage seminar, it is a great honor to recognize these outstanding men and women of the United States AFSOC. The ACA general membership meeting will take place after the awards presentation. All participants must register and pay prior to this event. Attire is business casual, and for active duty military is uniform of the day.

The Fish Fry is scheduled from 4-6 pm, located under the tents at the Ramada Plaza Beach Resort on the beach patio, don't miss fresh caught Red Snapper from Ariel Seafood in Destin, FL. Dave Krebs owner of Ariel Seafood generously donates fresh local seafood every year and fellow Air Commando volunteers, headed up by Ray Bourqe, cook it up fresh for you!

Commandos Rock! Yep, you read that right, we are featuring a rock concert this year. Madison Rising is a hard-hitting patriotic rock group that will rock the Emerald Coast Friday night. Don't miss their first ever show in Fort Walton Beach. And the best part - active duty/reserve/guard get in FREE! And if you are a civilian - $25 is a deal for a killer concert!

Our golf tourney starts at 8:30 am on Saturday Oct 14th at Gator Lakes on Hurlburt Field, located at 403 Walkup Way, Hurlburt Field, FL 32544. You must have a DoD ID to access the base. Please contact us if you sign up for golf but do not have base access. Lunch will be provided.
$60 per player, you may sign up 4 players to make a team.
The ACA golf tourney is one of the best events of the year because of our generous sponsors! So be "that guy" and ask your company to sponsor Air Commandos and partner with the ACA during our golf tourney, once an Air Commando always an Air Commando!
Our awards banquet will be at the Emerald Coast Convention Center again, we are honored to present the 2017 Hall of Fame inductees and award several AFSOC level awards to our young Air Commandos. The social hour begins at 5:30 pm and dinner is at 7:00 pm. We encourage attendees to visit our partners, they will have booths inside the ball room. Our corporate partners support the ACA all year long, and especially during the convention.
The dinner menu is pan seared chicken breast is accompanied by Montreal shrimp served with roasted red pepper & shallot cream. Smoked paprika new potatoes will be served with buttered broccoli and a gourmet dinner roll. All dinners are served with a salad. Dessert(s) are New York style cheesecake, strawberry coulis and chocolate peanut butter tart.
Banquet attire is suit or sports coat for men, cocktail or dinner dress/pantsuit for ladies. Dress for active duty military is Service Dress.

On Sunday we invite all attendees to ACA Headquarters for an open house at 9:00 am. Our very own Treasurer, Col (Ret) Jim Connors, will be hosting the open house, stop by and visit and have a cup of coffee before you head to the Sunday Memorial Service. This is on your own, transportation will not be provided. You will have plenty of time to make it to the memorial service though, the ACA building is four miles west of the Hurlburt Air Park. Remember, you will need a DoD ID card to have access to the base.
Our Memorial Service will be at the Hurlburt Air Park at 12:00 pm. If you do not have a DoD ID for base access, then let us do the driving. We will have transportation provided from the Ramada to the base and back to the hotel in time for the BBQ!
We are very lucky to have the Warrior Wagon catering our Sunday BBQ again, Van and his crew provided an outstanding array of food last year and will be doing it again this year! Don't miss his delicious award winning BBQ, it is the best on the Emerald Coast! Join us outdoors on the beach patio at 1:00 pm at the Ramada Plaza Beach Resort. The Commando Cash drawing will be held at 2:00 pm during the BBQ.
