SMSgt Hollis M. Tompkins, USAF, Ret., Director
Hollis Tompkins served 24 years active duty as a Radio Operator retiring in June 1999. He served as a Communications Planner/Operator from 1987-1993 at the 1SOW/DOS branch and Special Operation Contingency Communication Element (SOCCE), 1993-1994 Communications Detachment Chief 7061st MUNNS Araxos AB Greece and 1994-1999 Superintendent of Contingency Operations at HQAFSOC/DOS.
While assigned to the 1SOW, SMSgt Tompkins deployed in support of the Congressmen Mickey Leyland Recovery Operation in Ethiopia, Operation Just Cause and Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm. At HQAFSOC/DOS he served as the JSOC and USSOCOM communications focal point for HQAFSOC authoring numerous communications plans for sensitive compartmented special missions, provided oversight and input for acquisition and aircraft communication systems for over 80 unique special operations aircraft and conducted the first Air Force flight evaluation of the communications capabilities on the CV-22 aircraft reporting results to the HQ Navy and Marine Corp. He is a STEP promote and accumulated over 80 flight hours supporting CSAR missions on HH-3, MH-60G and MH-53J aircraft during Operation Desert Storm.
Tompkins joined the ACA Board of Directors in 2016.
