CMSgt Mickey Wright, USAF, Ret., Director
Mickey Wright currently resides in Fort Walton Beach, FL. After serving a 30-year career in the USAF as a Combat Controller he now supports the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFLR) on specialized one-of-a kind project manufacturing, advanced technologies, and capabilities development for special operations forces.
His first assignment after technical training was the 1st Special Operations Wing Combat Control Team on Hurlburt Field, FL. From Hurlburt he served at Clark AB, Republic of the Philippines, Kirtland AFB, New Mexico, Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, back to Hurlburt Field, and Royal Air Force Base Mildenhall in the United Kingdom. Finally, he returned to Hurlburt Field for a third and final assignment.
His last assignment in the USAF was as Superintendent of the Special Tactics Training Squadron (STTS) where Mickey provided leadership and management to the over 400 joint service cadre and students integral to sustaining global Special Tactics Battlefield Airman and Special Operations Terminal Control qualifications and capabilities for Combat Control (CCT), Pararescue (PJ), Special Operations Weather (SOWT), and Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) specialists. Additionally, Mickey oversaw Detachment 1, STTS which operated the Special Operations Terminal Attack (SOTAC) Course at Yuma Proving Grounds, AZ providing Joint Terminal Attack Control (JTAC) qualifications to USSOCOM personnel.
Mickey was asked to fill a vacancy on the ACA Board of Directors in Oct 2010 and in Oct 2012 was asked to serve as the President of the Combat Control Association. He served the CCA for six years and continues to serve the ACA.
Mickey and his wife Stefanie have three children and three grandchildren.
