Fundraiser a Success for Nelson FamilyShareThis
Through our benevolent efforts we were able to connect an awesome fund raising company, The Shop Forward with Building Homes for Heroes to help one of our severely wounded Air Commandos, Captain (Ret) Nathan Nelson and his beautiful family. Building Homes for Heroes was in the process of building a mortgage-free home for the Nelson family and they were working hard to raise the final $100,000 needed to get construction across the finish line.
ACA's own Chief Bill Turner made the connection, and the effort accelerated from there. The Shop Forward works with The Bobby Bones Show to reach a national audience. The Bobby Bones Show did an on-air interview with Captain Nelson who shared his story. The on-air live interview occurred 3-9-17, and was amazing. The taped interview can be heard at https://www.acast.com/.../3-9-17-bobby-bones-show-replay.... Captain Nelson’s inspiring interview runs from 27:25 to 33:47.
The fundraising goal was set at $50,000, but that amount was exceeded in nothing flat. By the time The Shop Forward sold out their #PIMPINJOY merchandise they had raised $100,000!
The Air Commando Association thanks The Shop Forward, The Bobby Bones Show, and Building Homes for Heroes for their tremendous and generous support of Captain Nelson and his family.
