Family with Newborn Needed Financial Help

Recently, a young Captain and his wife’s newborn child was born with severe birth defects. The family traveled out of the Fort Walton Beach (Hurlburt Field) area approximately 5 hours away for treatment at a hospital in Gainesville, Florida. Everything medically available was done to save the baby. Sadly, the baby suffered two heart attacks and later passed away at only 3 months old.
Though the family was able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House for several months, they incurred numerous other expenses including several trips to and from Gainesville and Hurlburt Field. The Air Commando Foundation donated $10,000 to help defray the expenses incurred during their time of need that the government did not cover.
