Terry “Ace” Shepherd 1927 – 2017

Terry "Ace" Shepherd, age 89 passed away Monday, July 24, 2017, in Fort Walton Beach, FL. He was born in 1927 in Hineston, Louisiana. Ace retired from the US Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant after 28 years of service. After retiring from the military he went to work for the Mary Esther Post Office where he served for another 19 years. Ace was an active member of Elks Lodge, Moose lodge, American Legion and the Whiskey Barn. He was also a longtime member of the River Rats Club and the Air Commandos. He enjoyed music and dancing. Ace loved people and had a caring heart, which gave him the nickname "Tomato Man", because of buying and sharing tomatoes with the less fortunate. He never met a stranger. Ace embraced life with passion and an open heart and through that, he touched some many lives with his love and for that will hold a special place in many people's hearts forever. Ace leaves to cherish his memories his loving daughters Carol Schoolcraft (Terry) and Lynn Brown (Dan); grandchildren TJ Schoolcraft (Kristina) and Scott Curfman (Matthew Tittle); great grandchildren Gabby Schoolcraft, Gavin Schoolcraft and Lindsey Ann White; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 6:00- 8:00 pm, Friday, July 28, 2017, at Emerald Coast Funeral Home in Fort Walton Beach. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, July 29, 2017, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Jessie Rogers Cemetery in Mary Esther, FL.
